Available Pressure Ranges

The following is a list of the common standard ranges used:-

Bourdon Tube Gauges:
Positive Pressure (kPa): 60; 100; 160; 250; 400; 600; 1 000; 1 600; 2 500; 4 000; 6 000.
Positive Pressure (MPa): 10; 16; 25; 40; 60; 100; 160; 250; 400.
Vacuum (kPa): -60; -100.
Compound (kPa): -100 + 60; -100 + 150; -100 + 300; -100 + 500; -100 + 900; -100 + 1 500; -100 + 2 400.

Capsule Gauges:
Positive Pressure (Pa): 1 000; 1 600; 2 500; 4 000; 6 000
Positive Pressure (kPa): 1,0; 1,6; 2,5; 4; 6; 10; 16; 25; 40.
Vacuum (Pa): -1 000; -1 600; -2 500; -4 000; -6 000
Vacuum (kPa): -1,0; -1,6; -2,5; -4; -6; -10; -16; -25; -40.
Compound (kPa): There is a large number of possibilities. The main rule is that the total range is standard. SABS 1062 makes the following recommendations, but this list is not exclusive.

Total Range	Component Ranges
10	4 & 6
16	6 & 10
25	10 & 15
40	15 & 25
60	20 & 40

e.g. –40 + 60 and –60 + 40 are both acceptable, in a total range of 10 kPa.
